No way to adjust tiny font, so uninstalled2 starsby henerey773 (Read all my 32 reviews)
This program seems very capable, if your eyes are better than mine. It looks like 8 point type, which may be ok on a 1280 or less display, but not on a 1920. I found all the extra goodies (nice) under tiny link in the upper right, but no Settings that might have included a font size bump. So then I used Revo to uninstall it, and I'll use Glary for most of those extras.

Easy to install, just works5 starsby asdf563
Does what it says on the tin. It's only an HTTPS proxy though, not a VPN. So it lets me watch Netflix, but not download torrents.

Long term user reviews current version4 starsby mpwinsma826
I am surprised that there are no new reviews of recent date. I have been using Skype since about 2003 or so, before EBay bought it from the originators and obviously before Microsoft bought it from Ebay. There have been improvements in the useful categories of speed, accessibility, and general usefulness. However, there have been some negative changes in system and online screens. The constant updating may be useful for newbies but it is annoying for those of us who have used Skype for over 10 years. Little changes (always without notification to users) make simple adjustments difficult since they seem to never be where they used to be onscreen. As examples, the listing of contacts based upon "most recent usage" is both good and bad. Good when looking for a recent contact; bad when looking for a contact that had not been used in a long time. Those of us with many contacts can't find old contacts easily. And a choice of HOW to sort contacts (various ways, like alphabetically for instance) has been eliminated. And a way to edit contacts' name information (useful to aid in identifying them) has also been eliminated. In general, this is a great product BUT the tech programmers seem to make small changes that suit themselves and mostly do what (I have been in the programming business longer than most of them are alive) THEY think THEY would want. Remember that EVERY USER is an individual and most do not do things YOUR way.

D shut down5 starsby busybusy (Read all my 200 reviews)
After reviewing this program I did not know the logic and assortment of options that needed to perform a customized shutdown. I can say that this program seems to cover them all. You can schedule it for today or in the future. You can taylor it to your needs an situation. I have tested it on a couple of machine using different options and it did the job based on my selections. Very well done!

This is the first audio system that I have been able to "master" in 30 years & I've tried 'em all. No instructions from author makes learning more difficult than it should be but there are plenty of Youtube explainer videos to help out.

Finalcrypt message verification and new inter4 starsby ronuitzaandam423
FinalCrypt now forces message verification of an added message authentication code in the encrypted file, which prevents wrongly selected ciphers to (double) encrypt an already encrypted file. Also FinalCrypt 2.4.0 has got a more glossy user interface. Thank you for publishing. Kind regards, Ron de Jong (Author)

Picpick is the best for making instructables.5 starsby smoozdog (Read all my 15 reviews)
... I have mine set to auto-save to my Dropbox and then it's ready to share. My only complaint(?) is that is does not offer a propriety editable format to make changes to an edited image after closing the program. Once it's saved and closed it's permanent. Good job guys at NGWIN. Excellent job!

Awesome browser5 starsby Grizzly660 (Read all my 8 reviews)
Don't know why the complaints below but I've been using Opera for years, last year I got rid of Google Chrome because Opera blows the other competition away hands down. When you right click on Task Manager you don't see a 100 windows open like other browser's, it's lightweight and only uses 1 window. My average CPU is 7 using Opera. Opera Rules!!!

My favorite pdf software for many years.5 starsby aminastun656
Viewer, then Editor, are the best softwares for my daily work with documents. I had tried another "competitors", some were free, some offered more features. But, in PDF-XChange, functionality + quality of performance + price + speed + support were the best. I love its smooth and fast work, and nice UI, and very detailed features. That's why I'm going to upgrade my license again

Good, reliable app4 starsby joemc1937605
I have been using this Backkup for a couple of years -- first the free version, then the paid Pro version. It is easy to use, reliable, and does everything I need in a Home Office backup. I have never needed customer support for anything, either operational or technical. I have used expensive, proprietary, and bloated backup software but this well-coded little app is all a home-office user needs. The zip restores are quick and easy, both extract restore or via the application restore. The program is updated periodically. Nothing to lose by trying out the free version!

Good but lacks helpfile or manual3 starsby Nicholas (Read all my 65 reviews)
It took me quite a while of trial and error to find out how to isolate a portion in a videofile and putting the two remaining portions togehter. There is no helpfile nor user manual. You are on your own to find out but when you get the Aha... Erlebnis this app works fine.

UltraVNC screenshot

Remote controlled goodness!5 starsby busybusy (Read all my 200 reviews)
UltraVNC is an amazing project. It is a wonderful alternative and kept up-to-date. It is windows only but allows you to connect to LinuxMAC vnc clients which is awesome. If you have a home or small business network it is an easy way to manage the machines remotely. It is easy to install and configure. To connect all you need is the machine name or IP address of the machines running the uvnc server and you are connected. It is offered in 32 and 64-bit versions and for people who have XP they have an old version just for that OS. Thanks to the developers for all their work!! Cheers!

Flash card-tastic5 starsby busybusy (Read all my 200 reviews)
I looked at this product a while ago and found it really useful to test my knowledge on different deck topics as well as my own decks. But now it is multi-platform and include iOSAndroid as well. I am glad to be revisiting this project because now I can take my decks with me. They provide synchronization services to keep your cards in sync across multiple devices. This is going to be a blast finding out new ways to use this program. Thanks to Damien for putting this out there and making it open source.

Great software debugging tool5 starsby busybusy (Read all my 200 reviews)
I have been using this for the past couple of years and found it extremely useful in figuring out when software is running amuck. Once you know their color scheme in the preferences and help you will easily know how to identify different process levels. It has a DLL view of each process running so you can see the different libraries associated with that given process. You can sort the columns based on your preferences and what you are looking for. It has not been updated in a while but not sure if anything else needs to be added.

This ia wonderful tool and it is portable as well so I'll be adding it to my PortableApps. I have an older media player system so not all formats seem to run on them. This tool allows me to identify the video audio formats easily and quickly so I can determine if it will work on my hardware. Simply amazing! Thanks to the MediaArea folks for putting a really nice utility!!

Easy sharing5 starsby busybusy (Read all my 200 reviews)
HFS makes it really easy to share file via your browser. It is easy to configure and if you need security it allows you to have user accounts. It has improved a lot since I first used it in 2009. More options and it is stable. Another cool thing is that it has been successfully tested with Wine under Linux. It has a small memory foot print so it takes very little resources to run. It is nice to see that this program has been maintained for so many years and a lot of people have found it very useful. Thanks to Massimo for an amazing program.

Textify works as designed. It takes the hastle of remembering or opening a notepad of an error message or pop-up. This program makes it that easy and very useful across all programs. It is easy to install and it hot-key enabled, the just highlight and copy the text. It is that simple. Just a wonderful tool to have on your desktop.

Nice monitoring software4 starsby busybusy (Read all my 200 reviews)
Servercheck was easy to install and configure for devices I wanted to keep tabs on. It does have a nice selection of methods to determine if systems or devices are in given states. Like a simple PING option to see if a printer or workstation is online. They have email alerts for admistrators to get notified of any device that may have gone down. The interface of their older version seem better then the current simplistic view they have today. But overall it works.

Free is not free5 starsby lsinrod416
They advertise it as absolutely free--but that is only if you like their logo plastered on every single frame of your video. There is no warning about this. After you have spent lots of time cutting out unwanted parts of your video, when you go to look at it is when you discover it. You have to buy the Gold Pack and then start all over. They should be upfront about this on their web page. I feel it is false advertising and definitely not going to make satisfied users. The software is worth the price of the Gold Pack so why not advertise it.

CCleaner screenshot

Not what it used to be2 starsby Klatuu (Read all my 23 reviews)
The new 'tiles' interface on CCleaner is horrible. The older graphics were easier to read, and the results readouts have are not as user friendly as the original version. Now that Avast has bought the company, they force installs of the latest version of CCleaner, which was never necessary in the past. They also install a 'task' in Task Manager that forces this install without permission, AND greatly slwo your boot time as it does it! Avast claims that there weer security issues in the older 5x versions of CCleaner, and that's why you need to update. But there are no issues if you turn off all monitoring, something that is not needed anyway to clean up things. If you can get a hold of the older version 4.19 of CCleaner, do what I do. When Avast needs to update it's software (not virus definitions), uninstall CCleaner 4.19, let Avast update and reboot, Go to Task Manager in Admin Tools and DELETE the Avast Task, then reinstall the original CCleaner. Either that, or deal with the forced installs of CCleaner, or even Avast AntiVirus if you only want CCleaner. Avast need to learn they do not have the right to take over your PC.

TrayStatus screenshot

Almost perfect5 starsby oteotd (Read all my 50 reviews)
This is one of my go to apps. Free for personal. I usually only use the Numlock and Caplock settings. This is great for keyboards that have no indicator lights built into the keyboard. Even if they are there you do not have to move you hands to see the status of the keyboard settings. Many laptops also do not have these indicators so this is a great help. Just make sure to set the icons to always show on the notifications area. The only thing that would make this better as far as I am concerned would be if the CD Rom if you still have one could be monitored.

Does Not import your existing extensions and bookm2 starsby henerey773 (Read all my 32 reviews)
Not only did it NOT import during the installation, it seemed to have NO facility for importing other than bookmarking one's manually opened Firefox "bookmarks.html", and for extensions and themes only a one-by-one open/install (if you know how to find them). If you want a FF clone that does import everything on install, try Waterfox. PM does run fine otherwise and is free and also free of some of the cruft FF imposes.
